How do I use Mighty Snail?
Using mighty snail is really easy. First of all you need to register. You can register by clicking the link that says "register" at the top of the page. Once you have registered you will have access to your very own online control panel. From here you can do the following:
- list properties
- list a personal profile
- edit your properties or profile
- view messages from people making enquiries about your properties or profile
- delete your property or profiles.
How do I list a property on Mighty Snail?
After you have registered you will be taken straight to your control panel. At the bottom of the control panel you will see a section called "Your listings". Click on the link underneath this that says "Add a property" and complete the form on the following page.
How do I edit a property on Mighty Snail?
Once in your control panel you will see a section called "Your Listings". Click on the link underneath this that says "View Properties". Once on the next page, locate the property you wish to edit and click "view and edit".
What is a personal profile?
A personal profile is a mini-biography of yourself. If somebody comes across your listed property then they can find out about you before they get in touch. This also works in reverse. If you have listed a property then rather than waiting for people to get in touch with you, you can search through the available profiles to see if anybody is looking for somewhere to stay. If you like the sound of them you can send them a message.
How do I list a personal profile?
After you have registered you will be taken straight to your control panel. The first section says "Your profile summary". Click on the link underneath this that says "Update your profile" and complete the form on the following page.
How long does my listing stay on Mighty Snail?
Your listing will stay on Mighty Snail for a period of thirty days before we delete it. Don't worry though, we will send you out a reminder before we do to ask if you want to renew it.
If you wish to delete a listing before the end of the thirty day period then from your control panel click on "View properties", select the property you wish to delete and then click "delete".
How do I search for flatmates or accommodation?
From the homepage follow the links at the top in the big coloured boxes. Make sure you choose the box under your correct category, e.g. students or professionals. These links allow you to search for either property or personal profiles.
How do I contact someone if I like their profile or property listing?
Once you have found a profile or property you like the sound of just click on "Send a message to this user". This link is located underneath the biography / description and photographs of the person or property.
Once you have typed your message it will then be sent to that person's email and also their Mighty Snail control panel. When they reply, their message to you will be sent to your email.
You may also like to click the link next to this that says "save to clipboard". This will save this profile / property to your control panel to make it easier for you to find in the future.
What is the clipboard?
The clipboard forms part of your control panel. When you are browsing through the site and you come across a profile or listing you will be given the option to "save to clipboard". This means that each time you sign back in to Mighty Snail you do not have to search for the profiles / properties you liked the last time because they will already be in your control panel.
How do I know when someone gets in touch with me?
When someone using Mighty Snail finds your property or profile and wishes to make further enquiries then they have the option to send you a message. This message will then be sent to your email address and to your Mighty Snail control panel. This makes sure you don't miss any important messages.
What premium services are available on Mighty Snail?
Although Mighty Snail is free-to-use, we do offer some premium services to go with your listings. These are:
- Extra Photographs (up to a maximum of four - including the free one)
- Google style premium listing (your listing will appear right at the top of the search results)
- Highlighted listing in the search results (your listing will be highlighted and stand out from the rest of the results)
- Automatic email matching service (you will automatically be emailed a list of all existing and new profiles / properties that match your exact criteria).
