How do I use the Mighty Snail website?
Using this website is really easy. First, you need to register. You can do this by clicking the link that says 'register' at the top of this page. Once you have done this, you will have access to an online control panel. From there you have the following options:
- list your property
- list your personal profile
- edit your property or your profile
- view messages from people making enquiries about your property or your profile
- delist your properties or your profile
How can I list my properties on the Mighty Snail site?
After registering you will be taken straight to the control panel. At the bottom of this page is a section called 'Your listings'. Please click on the link underneath that says 'Add a property' and then you can complete the form on the following page.
How can I edit properties on Mighty Snail?
Once you are in the control panel you will see a section called 'Your Listings'. Please, click on the link underneath that says 'View Properties'. When you are on the next page you can locate the property you wish to edit and then click 'view and edit'.
What is my personal profile?
Your 'personal profile' is a mini-biography of yourself. If somebody checks out your listed property then that person can find out about you before they get in touch. Of course this does also works in reverse. If you have listed your property then rather than waiting for people to get in touch with you, you can search through the listed profiles. You can then send them a message if you like the sound of them.
How do I list my personal profile on this web site?
After registering you will be taken to your control panel. The first section says 'Your profile summary'. Please click on the link underneath: 'Update your profile' and then complete the form on the following page.
How long does my listing stay on the Mighty Snail site?
The listing will stay on the site for a period of 30 days before we will delete it. Don't worry though, we will send out a reminder and ask if you want to renew it.
If you would like to delete your listing before the end of the 30 day period then go to your control panel and click 'View properties'. From here you can select the property you wish to delete and then click 'delist'.
How can I search for accommodation or flatmates?
Go to the home page and follow the links at the top in the big coloured boxes. Please, make sure you choose the box under your correct category, e.g. students or professionals. These links allow you to search for either properties or personal profiles.
How can I contact someone if I like their profile or property listing?
If you have found a profile (or property) simply click on 'Send a message to this user'. This link is located underneath the biography / description and photographs of the person or property.
Once you have typed a message it will then be sent to that person's email account and also their Mighty Snail control panel. When they reply, the message will be sent to your email account.
Another option is to click the link next to this that says 'save to clipboard'. This will save this profile / property to your control panel, which makes it easier for you to find it in the future.
What exactly is the clipboard?
The clipboard forms part of your control panel. When browsing through the site and you come across a profile or listing you will be given the option to 'save to clipboard'. This means that each time you sign back in to the Mighty Snail website you don't have to search for the profiles / properties you liked the last time because they will already be in your control panel.
How will I know when someone gets in touch with me?
When someone finds your property or profile and would like to make further enquiries then they have the option to send you a message. This message will then be sent to your email address and to your control panel. This procedure ensures that you don't miss any important messages.
What premium services are available?
Although Mighty Snail is a free-to-use site, we offer some additional premium services to go with your listings. They are:
- extra photographs (up to four - including the free one)
- google style premium listing (your listing appears right at the top of the search results)
- highlighted listing in the search results (your listing will stand out from the rest of the results)
- automatic email matching (you will automatically be emailed a list of all existing and new profiles / properties that match your criteria).
